Monday 31st December 2012.
Actually, I am not yet 60 but will be later this year. The reason for starting this blog is to create a diary of life once you have decided to give up working and no longer have to do things you don't want to or don't agree with. Maybe I just don't like being told what to do!
I sort of saw in the New Year with my sister and brother in law. She was slumped on the sofa getting over a cold and he was just developing one so not much celebrating although we did get through the bottle of red I so carefully brought home from Greece last year. I drank mine too quickly and ended up with a headache so none of us fancied the ouzo we had promised ourselves to see the new year in. We did enjoy watching the Prince of Persia and Graham Norton and it wouldn't be the same without Jules at midnight. Our conversation consisted of how uncomfortable underwired bras are and how we can't wait to take them off in the evening and how glad that we weren't going out as would have had to take off our comfy tracksuit bottoms! We did discuss our India holiday and what we were going to do for the rest of the week!
Thank goodness it had stopped raining by the time I walked home up the lane and the moon was nearly out. Absolutely no one around although fireworks going off everywhere.
Just 2 Happy New Year texts  from  friends from work. Whoops I don't work anymore so I suppose they are just friends now!
